Shop Manager
Locations: Battersea, Exmouth Market shop (due to open late 2010)
Salary: competitive
We are an innovative and fresh food concept that celebrates bringing the neighbourhood bakery back to the high street in a fun and modern way.
We are looking for a Shop Manager who can start immediately in our Battersea branch.
Duties
You will have to achieve and maintain agreed shop standards in all areas of operation and ensure maximum sales and profitability. You will provide effective leadership to your people and will lead by example. You will set the highest customer experience standards, make sure product displays are always mouth-wateringly tempting, train the team to deliver exceptional customer service, control stock levels, and ensure health and safety regulations are maintained. And as this is a management role, you’ll also recruit, train and oversee new and existing team members. In addition you will keep abreast of developments in the local area
Experience and requirements
Now, a bit about you. We are looking for a real foodie, with sound business sense and proven customer service orientation. You will be a good leader – ideally with a proven management experience in similar job – as a restaurant manager, café manager, catering manager or hospitality manager.
Got hands-on food experience, supervisory skills and want to take the step up to management? No problem – if you have leadership skills, flexibility and ability to work under pressure, we would like to hear from you.
Benefits

We are looking for a Shift Manager to work in our Battersea branch and this is an immediate start.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining a great product display
- Providing excellent customer service to our clients
- Managing the floor from a customer point of view
- Training new and existing staff
- Stock control
- Ensuring food hygiene and health and safety regulations are maintained
- Extremely friendly and customer service oriented
- Good leader
- Flexible
- Able to work under pressure
- Having at least one year of experience in a similar position within catering/hospitality industry will be an advantage.

Barista

Customer service assistant
Locations: All GAIL's shops, new Exmouth Market shop (due to open late 2010), Frieze art fair cafe (one-off event in October)
Salary: CompetitiveWe’re currently on the lookout for some talented customer service assistants to join our Battersea team and the new Chiswick branch of Gail’s. Training will take place in our Battersea Branch so you will need to be available to travel to Battersea.
Duties:
- Taking orders and serving customers
- Using the cash register
- Using your barista skills to whip up lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos and more
Experience and requirements:
- First and foremost: a big smile for everyone
- Passion for quality food
- A talent for customer service.
- Ideally you’ll have some relevant experience such as a previous job in a café or restaurant or as a retail/shop assistant – although this isn’t essential as we’ll teach you everything about food hygiene and provide full barista training.
