Boasting a warming fireplace, baby-changing facilities and occasional kids baking activities (to give mums and dads a much needed break), this store is just perfect for a family pit-stop or to stay and take your time with some coffee and cake. Located on the old Lighthouse Bakery site, we've kept up the tradition of great bread with our hand-made, preservative-free bread made with natural ingredients and no artificial colourings or flavourings.

It was a sunny day in May 2012 that we opened this bakery, the perfect weather to admire our four-metre skylight with the sun shining in! If it's raining you can hear the rain pour down above you while staying safe inside with a coffee. With a beautiful old cabinet at the front of the display and a kids' play area at the back, it's the perfect spot to people watch on Chelsea Beach and while away a few hours.

This shop has had many incarnations, having been United Dairy for many years, then a KFC, then a Greek Restaurant and then Rogers seafood restaurant. We're here to stay, providing the neighbourhood with hand-made artisan bread and a beatiful space to park yourself and while away some time.

Our first trip to Dulwich Village was a revelation - it felt like sleepy countryside, yet still in zone 2! - and we knew we had to open something here. With a bar facing the open kitchen it's a great spot to watch our chefs at work with scones spinning in the ovens - and the perfect place to grab an espresso or a bite to eat before a trip down the track at the nearby Herne Hill Velodrome or a visit to Dulwich Picture Gallery.

Opened in 2010, at Exmouth Market we offer not only our usual delights (delicious breads, pastries, cakes, salads, sandwiches, coffee etc) but this is also our only shop offering wine and beer. Just a few minutes walk from Sadler’s Wells theatre, and close to both Islington and the City, with its fantastic foodie credentials we felt that Exmouth Market was the perfect next step for us to break into new and uncharted territory among the residents and workers of Clerkenwell.

As the very first GAIL's bakery, our Hampstead High Street shop is now firmly set into the local Hampstead community and we love being part of this neighborhood. Queen's Park is simply overflowing with bushels of breads and baked goods which somehow makes the choosing of an afternoon treat a decision that requires time and careful consideration! People often just stop and stare through the window before coming in but we think they'd be more comfortable in the lounge area at the back of the bakery.

Our Wardour Street site opened just after Christmas in 2011, turning Wardour Street into a foodie mecca - Paul A Young's chocolate shop is right across the street. With a beautiful neon 'Nice Buns' sign designed by artist Ron Haselden permanently installed as a cheeky nod to Soho's reputation, we'll be rotating the other artwork in this shop quarterly to keep up with Soho's fast pace of life.

In June 2011 we opened this shop on Thurloe Street in South Kensington. It's so small that we only offer takeaway, unless the weather is kind enough for you to sit at one of our tables outside! Inside it's full to bursting with the finest handmade bread in town as well as GAIL's pastries, cakes, sandwiches and salads. Perfect to grab a snack and a coffee before you hit the museums - or party away in Boujis next door!
